Abstract
A liquid crystal display device includes: a liquid crystal panel having first and second substrates and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates; a first polarizing film and an optical film sequentially disposed on an outer surface of the first substrate; a backlight unit under the liquid crystal panel; a first frame under the backlight unit; a second frame surrounding a side surface of the backlight unit; a pad on the second frame; and an adhesive layer between the liquid crystal panel and the pad, wherein the optical film is separated from the pad, and wherein the first polarizing film overlaps the pad.

A liquid crystal display device, comprising:
- a liquid crystal panel having first and second substrates and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates;
- a first polarizing film disposed on an outer surface of the first substrate;
- an optical film disposed on an outer surface of the first polarizing film;
- a backlight unit under the liquid crystal panel;
- a first frame under the backlight unit;
- a second frame adjacent to a side surface of the backlight unit;
- a pad on the second frame, the pad being spaced from the optical film and the first polarzing film being positioned on and overlapping the pad;
- and
- an adhesive layer between the liquid crystal panel and the pad.
