Abstract
A compact shower water filter assembly for holding a water filter element therein. The water filter element is easily changeable by unscrewing two halves of a body forming the filter assembly. The body halves are easily gripped and turned, so as to be opened or closed. The upper half of the body is internally threaded to engage the shower arm, and may pivot about the shower arm. The bottom half of the water filter assembly may include a showerhead, converting the shower water filter assembly, into a filtered showerhead assembly. The shower water filter assembly may be easily and quickly adapted to be held on any shower arm, and to replace any existing shower water filter without taking up as much room as currently existing shower water filters.
Claims8
A shower water filter assembly connectable to a shower arm comprising:
- a substantially cylindrical water filter body comprised of a body upper portion and a body lower portion, the body upper portion defining a water input and the body lower portion defining a water outlet;
- wherein the water input is disposed within the body upper portion, the water input defines a threadable water input passage configured to engage the shower arm within the body upper portion;
- the body upper portion and the body lower portion being removably secured together at open ends to define a hollow internal chamber;
- a water filter held in the hollow internal chamber, the filter defining at least one filter inlet opening, at least one filter exit opening and a filter media disposed therein;
- and
- wherein the hollow internal chamber is configured to direct a flow of water from the water inlet, through the water filter and out the water outlet.
A shower water filter assembly for connection to a shower arm comprising:
- a substantially cylindrical body, the body including a body upper portion defining a water input disposed thereon and a mating body lower portion defining a water output;
- wherein the water input further defines a threaded input passage disposed within the body upper portion for receiving and engaging the shower arm;
- the body upper and lower portions being engageable to define a hollow internal chamber therebetween;
- a water filter disposed within the hollow inner chamber, the water filter and having a filter inlet opening, a filter exit opening and a filter media disposed within the filter intermediate the filter inlet opening and the filter exit opening;
- and
- a shower spray nozzle disposed within the body lower portion, the nozzle defining a bottom surface of the body lower portion, the nozzle being in fluid communication with the filter output openings, and defining the body lower portion output.
