Abstract
A method and apparatus for setting geofence boundaries are provided herein. More particularly, geofence boundaries are set on a per-person basis, and based on a type of equipment in proximity to the person for whom the geofence boundary is being set.

A method for setting a geofence boundary for a person, the method comprising the steps of:
- determining a type of equipment in proximity to the person;
- setting the geofence boundary based on the type of equipment in proximity to the person.
A method for setting a geofence boundary for a person, the method comprising the steps of:
- determining a group of people in proximity to an area or incident, wherein the area or incident has a geofence surrounding the area or incident, and the geofence boundary varies for each person within the group of people;
- for each person within the group of people, determining a type of equipment in proximity to the person;
- for each person within the group of people, setting the geofence boundary for each person based on the type of equipment in proximity to the person, such that a first person from the group of people has a first geofence boundary surrounding the area or incident, and a second person from the group of people has a second geofence boundary surrounding the area or incident.
An apparatus comprising:
- a receiver having an input comprising a type of equipment in proximity to the person;
- logic circuitry determining a type of equipment in proximity to the person and setting a geofence boundary based on the type of equipment in proximity to the person.
