Methods and apparatus of viewport adaptive 360 degree video delivery

A WTRU for processing a 360 degree video, comprising:

• a processor configured to:
• receive a media presentation description (MPD) associated with the 360 degree video, the MPD comprising a property element that indicates a geometric representation of a media segment, a first view port, and a first view port relative quality that is relative to at least a second view port quality;
• receive the media segment;
• determine, based on the property element, the geometric representation of the received media segment;
• and
• reconstruct the 360 degree video associated with the received media segment based on the determined geometric representation.

A method of using a WTRU for processing a 360 degree video, comprising:

• receiving a media presentation description (MPD) associated with the 360 degree video, the MPD comprising a property element that indicates a geometric projection of a media segment, a first view port, and a first view port relative quality that is relative to at least a second view port quality;
• receiving the media segment;
• determining, based on the property element, the geometric representation of the received media segment;
• and
• reconstructing the 360 degree video associated with the received media segment based on the determined geometric representation.
