Using separate weighting scores for different types of data in a decentralized agreement protocol

A computing device of a dispersed storage network (DSN) comprises:

• a memory;
• an interface;
• and
• a processing module operably coupled to the memory and the interface, wherein the processing module is operable to:
• identify characteristics of a plurality of resources for each resource level of a plurality of resource levels of the DSN, wherein a data segment of a data object is one of a plurality of data types and is stored in memory of the DSN as a set of encoded data slices in accordance with a distributed agreement protocol (DAP);
• generate a plurality of sets of DAP configuration information for the plurality of resources of each resource level based on the characteristics and in accordance with the DAP, wherein each set of DAP configuration information of the plurality of sets of DAP configuration information corresponds to a data type of a plurality of data types utilized in the DSN;
• receive, via the interface, a data access request regarding a data segment of data from a requesting device;
• determine a data type of the data segment;
• when the data type is the first data type of the plurality of data types:
• obtain a first set of DAP configuration information of the plurality of sets of DAP configuration information;
• and
• perform one or more distributed agreement protocol functions utilizing an identifier of the data segment and the corresponding set of DAP configuration information to select storage units of the DSN;
• and
• send, via the interface, the data access request to the selected storage units for execution.
