Abstract
Methods, systems, and computer program products for managing Internet of Things (IoT) network-connected devices.
Claims20
A method for establishing a secure connection between a plurality of devices and a server, the method comprising:
- receiving a query from one of the plurality of devices, the query to locate a dotted quad IP address based at least in part on the query;
- synthesizing, in response to the query, a first URL containing a fractional subdomain portion that comprises at least a first token and a second token;
- forming a second URL, wherein the second URL comprises at least one wildcard character in a first fractional subdomain position and at least one of the first token or the second token in a second fractional subdomain position;
- and
- generating a wildcard digital security certificate to serve to at least a first device of the plurality of devices.
A computer readable medium, embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium, the non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon a sequence of instructions which, when stored in memory and executed by one or more processors causes the one or more processors to perform a set of acts for establishing a secure connection between a plurality of devices and a server, the acts comprising:
- receiving a query from one of the plurality of devices, the query to locate a dotted quad IP address based at least in part on the query;
- synthesizing, in response to the query, a first URL containing a fractional subdomain portion that comprises at least a first token and a second token;
- forming a second URL, wherein the second URL comprises at least one wildcard character in a first fractional subdomain position and at least one of the first token or the second token in a second fractional subdomain position;
- and
- generating a wildcard digital security certificate to serve to at least a first device of the plurality of devices.
A system for establishing a secure connection between a plurality of devices and a server, the system comprising:
- a storage medium having stored thereon a sequence of instructions;
- and
- one or more processors that execute the instructions to cause the one or more processors to perform a set of acts, the acts comprising,
- receiving a query from one of the plurality of devices, the query to locate a dotted quad IP address based at least in part on the query;
- synthesizing, in response to the query, a first URL containing a fractional subdomain portion that comprises at least a first token and a second token;
- forming a second URL, wherein the second URL comprises at least one wildcard character in a first fractional subdomain position and at least one of the first token or the second token in a second fractional subdomain position;
- and
- generating a wildcard digital security certificate to serve to at least a first device of the plurality of devices.
