Abstract
A system and method for a handshake authenticated coded locked container are provided. In example embodiments, a digitally encoded lock mechanism that is used by a sender to lock a container before shipping is determined. An access key is received from the recipient that receives the container. An authentication process is performed that determines whether the access key triggers the unlocking of the container. Based on a determination that the access key triggers the unlocking of the container, instructions are provided to unlock the container.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a server, a copy of a digitally encoded lock mechanism used to lock a container before shipping to a recipient;
- storing, in data storage, the copy of the digitally encoded lock mechanism;
- receiving, by the server, a location signal for the container;
- determining that the location signal corresponds to a location of the recipient;
- and
- in response to the determining that the position data corresponds to the location of the recipient, triggering, by the server, relay of an access key to a recipient device of the recipient, the access key being used by the recipient device to unlock the container by the recipient.
A system comprising:
- one or more hardware processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more hardware processors, cause the one or more hardware processors to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a copy of a digitally encoded lock mechanism used to lock a container before shipping to a recipient;
- storing, in data storage, the copy of the digitally encoded lock mechanism,
- receiving a location signal for the container;
- determining that the location signal corresponds to a location of the recipient;
- and
- in response to the determining that the position data corresponds to the location of the recipient, triggering relay of an access key to a recipient device of the recipient, the access key being used by the recipient device to unlock the container by the recipient.
A machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more hardware processors of a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a copy of a digitally encoded lock mechanism used to lock a container before shipping to a recipient;
- storing, in data storage, the copy of the digitally encoded lock mechanism,
- receiving a location signal for the container;
- determining that the location signal corresponds to a location of the recipient;
- and
- in response to the determining that the position data corresponds to the location of the recipient, triggering relay of an access key to a recipient device of the recipient, the access key being used by the recipient device to unlock the container by the recipient.
