Abstract
The present disclosure provides methods and an apparatus for quickly and easily facilitating the creation of certain merchandise based on a user selection of at least one of a collection of images. It is contemplated that the user can browse the selection of images, choose a desired image or images, and quickly convert the image or images into, for example, photo reprints, photo books, coffee mugs, or wall calendars.
Claims20
A method of interacting with a smart device to generate a Merchandise item including a selected image, the method comprising:
- displaying a collection of images on the smart device;
- based upon a user interaction selecting an image with a user interactive interface associate a first set of Cartesian Coordinates associated with the selected image;
- associating a Merchandise item with a second set of Cartesian Coordinates;
- entering a user choice of the second set of Cartesian Coordinates to specify the Merchandise item;
- designating a third set of Cartesian coordinates to be associated with a placement position of the selected image upon the Merchandise item;
- and
- transmitting to a fulfillment shipper via internet protocol from the smart device a digital representation of a user order comprising the selected image placed upon the merchandise item, a digital description of the Merchandise item and a location on the Merchandise item for locating the digital representation of the selected image.
An automated apparatus for facilitating easy Merchandise generation based upon a selection of images, the apparatus comprising:
- a computer server in logical connection with a digital communications network and configured to be accessed by a network access device via the digital communications network;
- and
- executable software stored on the computer server and executable on demand, the software operative with the computer server to cause the computer server to:
- transmit via internet protocol a collection of images to a first user device;
- prompt a first user to create a user order, the user order comprising a selection of at least one image and at least one Merchandise type;
- verify that the first user has permission to create Merchandise based upon the selection of at least one image;
- and
- transmit, based upon verification that the first user has permission to create Merchandise based upon the selection of at least one image, the user order to a Merchandise creation facility.
An image generating apparatus for providing an infrastructure for generating an article of Merchandise based upon a static replication of a digital photo, the apparatus comprising:
- an image capture device for generating digital image data representative of a first digital photo;
- one or more computer servers for post processing the digital image data, said computer server in logical communication with the image capture device and accessible with a network access device via a digital communications network;
- executable software stored on the one or more computer servers and executable on demand, the software operative with the one or more servers to cause the apparatus to:
- receive from a user an input choosing a desired article of Merchandise;
- receive the first digital photo to be applied to the article of Merchandise;
- associate Cartesian Coordinates with specified segregated spatial areas of the first digital photo received from the image capture device;
- designate an area to apply the first digital photo to the article of Merchandise;
- and
- manufacture the article of Merchandise based upon the first digital photo.
