Mobile telephone transfer of funds

A system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a tangible, non-transitory memory configured to communicate with the processor, the tangible, non-transitory memory having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, by the processor, a payment request from a payment application in a first party mobile telephone of a first party,
• wherein the payment request identifies a purchase amount to be transferred from a first party financial account of the first party to a merchant financial account of a merchant, and
• wherein the payment request includes information identifying the first party financial account;
• obtaining, by the processor, a number of transactions completed using the payment application since a last authorization from the first party that are approaching a maximum number of transactions using the payment application without further authorization from the first party;
• prompting, by the processor, the first party mobile telephone about the approaching the maximum number, in response to the obtaining;
• determining, by the processor, the number of transactions completed using the payment application since the last authorization from the first party being equal to the maximum number of the transactions that can be completed using the payment application without further authorization from the first party;
• denying, by the processor, the payment request in response to the determining;
• and
• disabling, by the processor and in response to the determining, the payment application to prevent the information identifying the first party financial account from being transmitted.

An article of manufacture including a non-transitory, tangible computer readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a computer-based system, cause the computer-based system to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, by the computer-based system, a payment request from a payment application in a first party mobile telephone of a first party,
• wherein the payment request identifies a purchase amount to be transferred from a first party financial account of the first party to a merchant financial account of a merchant, and
• wherein the payment request includes information identifying the first party financial account;
• obtaining, by the computer-based system, a number of transactions completed using the payment application since a last authorization from the first party that are approaching a maximum number of transactions using the payment application without further authorization from the first party;
• prompting, by the computer-based system, the first party mobile telephone about the approaching the maximum number, in response to the obtaining;
• determining, by the computer-based system, the number of transactions completed using the payment application since the last authorization from the first party being equal to the maximum number of the transactions that can be completed using the payment application without further authorization from the first party;
• denying, by the computer-based system, the payment request in response to the determining;
• and
• disabling, by the computer-based system and in response to the determining, the payment application to prevent the information identifying the first party financial account from being transmitted.
