Abstract
A method for synthetic data generation and analysis including: determining a set of parameter values; generating a scene based on the parameter values; rendering a synthetic image of the scene; and generating a synthetic dataset including a set of synthetic images.
Claims1
A method for synthetic data generation and analysis comprising:
- determining an object class;
- determining a geometric parameter, wherein the geometric parameter defines a first parameter space;
- sampling the first parameter space according to a first low discrepancy sequence (LDS) to generate a geometric parameter value;
- generating a three-dimensional (3D) scene comprising an object, wherein the object is an instance of the object class, wherein generating the 3D scene comprises arranging the object based on the geometric parameter value;
- determining a rendering parameter, wherein the rendering parameter defines a second parameter space;
- sampling the second parameter space according to a second LDS to generate a rendering parameter value;
- rendering a synthetic image of the 3D scene based on the rendering parameter value, wherein the synthetic image defines a set of pixels and depicts the object within a subset of the set of pixels;
- automatically labelling each pixel of the subset of the set of pixels with a label defining the object class;
- determining an augmentation parameter, wherein the augmentation parameter defines a third parameter space;
- sampling the third parameter space according to a third LDS to generate an augmentation parameter value;
- augmenting the synthetic image based on the augmentation parameter value to generate an augmented synthetic image;
- and
- combining the augmented synthetic image with a set of augmented synthetic images to generate a synthetic image dataset comprising intrinsically labelled images.
