System and method for determining and displaying a list of suggested search items for a search field based on prior user interaction

A method for determining and displaying a list of suggested search items, the method comprising:

• providing, at a client device including a processor and a browser, a suggestion curator configured to:
• display, at a user interface of the client device, a plurality of suggested search items, each suggested search item being associated with a rating, and the plurality of suggested search items being displayed in an order according to their respective ratings,
• in response to receiving a selection of a search item, as a selected item, determine or adjust a rating for the selected item, based on a categorization of the selected item as one of a new selection or a repeat selection, and
• update the order in which the plurality of suggested search items is displayed, according to the determined rating for the selected item.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored thereon, which when read and executed by a computer, cause the computer to:

• provide, at a client device including a processor and a browser, a suggestion curator configured to:
• display, at a user interface of the client device, a plurality of suggested search items, each suggested search item being associated with a rating, and the plurality of suggested search items being displayed in an order according to their respective ratings,
• in response to receiving a selection of a search item, as a selected item, determine or adjust a rating for the selected item, based on a categorization of the selected item as one of a new selection or a repeat selection, and
• update the order in which the plurality of suggested search items is displayed, according to the determined rating for the selected item.
