Optimized search result placement based on gestures with intent

A computer system comprising:

• at least one processing unit;
• and
• at least one memory storing computer-executable instruction that ,when executed by the at least one processing unit, cause the computer system to perform a method of automatically updating search results on a search application based on gesture input, the method comprising:
• identifying a gesture on a search result page on a screen;
• translating the gesture into an intent;
• determining an action based on the intent;
• determining update content based upon the action;
• retrieving the update content;
• and
• dynamically updating the search result page with the update content.

A computer storage medium comprising computer-executable instructions that when executed by a processor to perform a method of automatically updating search results on a search application based on gesture input on a mobile device, the method comprising:

• identifying a gesture on a search result page on a screen;
• translating the gesture into an intent;
• determining an action based on the intent;
• determining update content based upon the action;
• retrieving the update content;
• and
• dynamically updating the search result page with the update content.
