Cache management

A computer-implemented method for managing a cache, the computer-implemented method comprising performing computer-implemented operations for:

• receiving, by a client device, a request to obtain data accessible by a server computer;
• requesting, by the client device, at least one hash from a client peer, wherein the at least one hash corresponds to the requested data;
• searching a cache in communication with the client device and the client peer for the requested data corresponding to the at least one hash;
• and
• in response to a determination that the cache does not include the requested data, requesting the requested data from the server computer.

A system for managing a cache, the system comprising:

• a memory device containing computer-readable instructions;
• and
• a processor in communication with the memory device that, having executed the computer-readable instructions, configures the system to:
• receive a request to obtain data accessible by a server computer;
• request at least one hash from a client peer, wherein the at least one hash corresponds to the requested data;
• search a cache in communication with the client device and the client peer for the requested data corresponding to the at least one hash;
• and
• request the requested data from the server computer in response to a determination that the cache does not include the requested data.

A memory device having computer-readable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, causes a computing device to perform a plurality of operations comprising:

• receiving a request to obtain data accessible by a server computer;
• requesting at least one hash from a client peer, wherein the at least one hash corresponds to the requested data;
• searching a cache in communication with the client device and the client peer for the requested data corresponding to the at least one hash;
• and
• in response to a determination that the cache does not include the requested data, requesting the requested data from the server computer.
