Data processing method and electronic device supporting the same

A portable communication device comprising:

• first communication circuitry to establish a first communication connection according to a first network communication protocol;
• second communication circuitry to establish a second communication connection according to a second network communication protocol different from the first network communication protocol;
• a touchscreen display;
• and
• a processor adapted to:
• transmit identification information corresponding to the portable communication device to a server via the first communication connection established using the first communication circuitry, the identification information to be used by the server to authenticate the portable communication device;
• receive, from the server, first update data corresponding to an application installed in the portable communication device based at least in part on an update in the application in the server;
• determine that the application is updatable in a wearable device external to the portable communication device, based at least in part on the first update data;
• display, via the touchscreen display, an user interface corresponding to the wearable device based at least in part on the second communication connection being established between the portable communication device and the wearable device, the displaying including presenting a first indication indicative of the application and a second indication indicating that the application is updatable in the wearable device, based at least in part on the determining;
• and
• transmit second update data corresponding to the application to the wearable device via the second communication connection based at least in part on a user input received with respect to the second indication, the second update data to be used by the wearable device to update the application in the wearable device.

A portable communication device comprising:

• first communication circuitry to establish a first communication connection according to a first network communication protocol;
• second communication circuitry to establish a second communication connection according to a second network communication protocol different from the first network communication protocol;
• a touchscreen display;
• and
• a processor adapted to:
• transmit identification information corresponding to the portable communication device to a server via the first communication connection established using the first communication circuitry, the identification information to be used by the server to authenticate the portable communication device;
• receive, from the server, first update data corresponding to an application installed in the portable communication device via the first communication connection, based at least in part on an update in the application in the server;
• determine that the application is updatable in a wearable device external to the portable communication device, based at least in part on the first update data;
• and
• based at least in part on the determining, automatically transmit second update data corresponding to the application to the wearable device via the second communication connection, the second update data to be used to update the application installed in the wearable device.
