Safety and reliability guarantees for laser fabrication

A computer numerically controlled machine configured to perform operations comprising:

• comparing sensor data generated by a sensor of a computer numerically controlled machine with a forecast comprising expected sensor data for the sensor over a course of an execution plan for making at least one cut with a movable laser cutting head of the computer numerically controlled machine, the sensor data generated during execution of the execution plan;
• during the execution of said execution plan, monitoring the sensor data and detecting a deviation from the forecast;
• determining, based on the detecting, that an anomalous condition of the computer numerically controlled machine has occurred;
• and
• performing an action based on the determining.

A computer readable medium comprising a non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one programmable processor, cause the at least one programmable processor to perform operations comprising:

• comparing sensor data generated by a sensor of a computer numerically controlled machine with a forecast comprising expected sensor data for the sensor over a course of an execution plan for making at least one cut with a movable laser cutting head of the computer numerically controlled machine, the sensor data generated during execution of the execution plan;
• during the execution of said execution plan, monitoring the sensor data and detecting a deviation from the forecast;
• determining, based on the detecting, that an anomalous condition of the computer numerically controlled machine has occurred;
• and
• performing an action based on the determining.
