Plunger Pump Fluid End

A valve retainer assembly comprising:

• a valve retainer body with a central axis which comprises:
• a pair of channels capable of receiving ridges;
• a hub which is connected to or formed integrally with said body, said hub capable of being movably coupled to a valve;
• wherein each pair of channels are defined by a first and second pair of upper and lower rims;
• wherein the first upper rim and the second lower rim are disposed in a first plane and the second upper rim and first lower rim are disposed in a second plane, and wherein said first and second planes intersect at the central axis of the valve retainer body.

A fluid end assembly of a reciprocating pump, the fluid end assembly comprising:

• a housing;
• a cross-bore fluid interface disposed in said housing, said cross-bore fluid interface having an inside surface;
• a suction bore disposed in said housing along a first centerline;
• a suction valve disposed in said suction bore;
• a plunger bore disposed in said housing along a second centerline;
• a discharge bore disposed in said housing;
• a suction valve retainer assembly disposed in said housing comprising a retainer body with a plurality of outer channels having upper and lower ridges, wherein said suction valve retainer assembly is capable of being rotated while disposed in said housing to a fixed position substantially parallel to said second centerline.
