Abstract
Mixing devices and associated methods are described herein. A mixing device configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a plate configured to rotate about a longitudinal axis and a plurality of enclosures coupled to the plate. The enclosures can each include (a) at least one sidewall that defines an oblique angle with the plate and (b) a chamber configured to receive a media and a fluid. The enclosures can be fluidly coupled to a fluid source for receiving the fluid in the chambers. When the plate is rotated, the enclosures revolve about the longitudinal axis to mix the media with the fluid in the chambers.
Claims20
A mixing device, comprising:
- a spindle configured to rotate about a longitudinal axis;
- a plate coupled to the spindle;
- and
- an enclosure coupled to the plate, wherein the enclosure defines an interior chamber configured to receive a media, wherein the enclosure includes at least one sidewall that is obliquely angled relative to the plate, and wherein rotation of the spindle drives the plate to rotate and the enclosure to revolve about the longitudinal axis to move the media within the chamber.
A mixing device, comprising:
- a plate configured to rotate about a longitudinal axis;
- and
- a plurality of enclosures coupled to the plate, wherein—
- individual ones of the enclosures include (a) at least one sidewall that defines an oblique angle with the plate and (b) a chamber configured to receive a media and a fluid,
- the enclosures are fluidly coupled to a fluid source for receiving the fluid in the chambers, and
- rotation of the plate revolves the enclosures about the longitudinal axis to mix the media with the fluid in the chambers.
A method of mixing a media with a fluid, the method comprising:
- disposing the media within a chamber of an enclosure, wherein the enclosure is coupled to a plate at an oblique angle;
- supplying the fluid to the chamber;
- and
- driving a spindle coupled to the plate to rotate the plate and revolve the enclosure about a longitudinal axis to mix the media with the fluid in the chamber.
