Embodiments of the invention may also relate to stimulation of AMPD2 activity to treat anorexia nervosa or stimulate food intake in a subject.
Claims23
A composition useful for decreasing a craving for fructose, sucrose, and/or a simple sugar-containing compound, said composition comprising any compound with AMPD2 inhibitory activity at a therapeutically effective amount to inhibit activity against AMPD2.
A method for treating an AMPD2 related craving or addiction in a subject comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an AMPD2 inhibitor and/or a pan AMPD inhibitor, to the subject.
A pharmaceutical formulation for treating a sugar craving characterized by a presence or activity of AMPD2 by decreasing AMPD2, comprising a therapeutically effective amount of an AMPD2 inhibitor, and optionally a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for treating anorexia nervosa and/or to increase food intake in a subject, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of IMP to the subject.
