Image forming apparatus, image forming system and control method therefor

An image forming system which includes an image forming apparatus and a print control apparatus configured to perform control of the image forming apparatus, wherein:

• the image forming apparatus comprises
• a first sheet feeding unit configured to be able to store printing sheets,
• a second sheet feeding unit of a tray type configured to load printing sheets thereon, and
• a notification unit configured to notify sheet quantity information regarding printing sheets that are stored in each sheet feeding unit to the print control apparatus;
• the print control apparatus comprises a display unit configured to display a state of the image forming apparatus;
• in a case where the print control apparatus receives a notification of a state in which there are no sheets in the first sheet feeding unit, the print control apparatus is configured to display a state of no printing sheet with a display object indicating a warning;
• and
• in a case where the print control apparatus receives a notification of a state in which there are no sheets in the second sheet feeding unit, the print control apparatus is configured to present a display of a state of no printing sheet with a display object indicating a normal state.

A control method for an image forming apparatus which includes a first sheet feeding unit configured to be able to store printing sheets, and a second sheet feeding unit of a manual feed type configured to load printing sheets thereon, comprising:

• detecting a sheet quantity of printing sheets stored in the sheet feeding units;
• and
• displaying a state of the image forming apparatus, wherein
• in a case where a state in which there are no sheets in the first sheet feeding unit is detected, control is performed to display a state of no printing sheet with a display object indicating a warning, and in a case where a state in which there are no sheets in the second sheet feeding unit is detected, control is performed to present a display of a state of no printing sheet with a display object indicating a normal state.

A control method for an image forming system which includes an image forming apparatus having a first sheet feeding unit configured to be able to store printing sheets and a second sheet feeding unit of a manual feed type configured to load printing sheets thereon, and a print control apparatus configured to perform control of the image forming apparatus, the control method comprising:

• notifying, by the image forming apparatus, sheet quantity information regarding printing sheets stored in the sheet feeding units to the print control apparatus;
• and
• displaying, by the print control apparatus, a state of the image forming apparatus, wherein
• in a case where the print control apparatus receives a notification of a state in which there are no sheets in the first sheet feeding unit, the print control apparatus controls so as to display a state of no printing sheet with a display object indicating a warning, and in a case where the print control apparatus receives a notification of a state in which there is no sheet in the second sheet feeding unit, the print control apparatus controls so as to present a display of a state of no printing sheet with a display object indicating a normal state.
