Abstract
The present disclosure relates to nucleic acids that encode enzyme activities involved in the synthesis of lathyranes, intermediates in the synthesis of lathyranes and also compounds derived from lathyranes such as tiglianes, daphnanes and ingenanes; cells transformed with the nucleic acid molecules and vectors comprising the nucleic acid molecules.
Claims27
An isolated cell transformed or transfected with an expression vector adapted to express a nucleic acid molecule comprising
- (a) the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 3,
- (b) a nucleotide sequence comprising at least 90% sequence identity to the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 3 and encoding a polypeptide that has casbene-9-oxidase activity,
- (c) a nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, or
- (d) a nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide that is greater than 96% identical to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2 and has casbene-9-oxidase activity.
