Abstract
Catalysts including at least one microporous material (e.g., zeolite), an organosilica material binder, and at least one catalyst metal are provided herein. Methods of making the catalysts, preferably without surfactants and processes of using the catalysts, e.g., for aromatic hydrogenation, are also provided herein.

A catalyst comprising:
- (i) at least one microporous material;
- (ii) an organosilica material binder, which is a polymer comprising independent units of a monomer selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a monomer of Formula [Z15Z16SiCH2]3 (I), wherein each Z15 represents a hydroxyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group or an oxygen atom bonded to a silicon atom of another monomer and each Z16 represents a hydroxyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, a C1-C4 alkyl group, or an oxygen atom bonded to a silicon atom of another monomer;
- and
- (b) a cyclic polyurea monomer of Formula
- wherein each R1 independently is a X5OX6X7SiXB group, wherein each X5 represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-C4 alkyl group, or a bond to a silicon atom of another monomer unit;
- X6 and X7 each independently represent a hydroxyl group, a C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, or an oxygen atom bonded to a silicon atom of another monomer unit;
- and each X8 represents a C1-C8 alkylene group bonded to a nitrogen atom of the cyclic polyurea;
- and
- (iii) at least one catalyst metal.
