An apparatus comprising:

• a pixel block including a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix;
• a processing unit configured to process signals read from the plurality of pixels;
• and
• a reading unit configured to control a reading order of the plurality of pixels,
• wherein the reading unit
• reads in a first direction, a first pixel group including a part of the plurality of pixels, and
• after reading the first pixel group, reads in a second direction, which is opposite to the first direction, a second pixel group including a part of the plurality of pixels adjacent to the first pixel group.
