Abstract
Prior to connecting to a gateway associated with an electronic health record system, a user device can check in with a server. The server can send configuration information useable by the user device for connecting to the gateway for downloading medical record data. The configuration information may include an update value that is useable by the user device to determine a time frame for contacting the gateway. In some examples, the user device determines when to contact the gateway without using the update value.
Claims20
A user device, comprising:
- a memory configured to store computer-executable instructions;
- and
- a processor in communication with the memory and configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to at least:
- send an information request to a server, the information request requesting information about accessing a gateway of an electronic health record system;
- receive, from the server, a communication comprising an update value and a data object associated with the gateway, the update value representing a time period and being generated based at least in part on characteristics of the electronic health record system, and the data object comprising configuration information useable by the user device for accessing the gateway;
- determine a random clock value that is between zero and the update value, the random clock value corresponding to a clock time within the time period;
- and
- send an access request to the gateway at the clock time based at least in part on the configuration information, the access request to request downloading of medical record data maintained by the electronic health record system.
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- sending, by a user device, an information request to a server, the information request requesting information about accessing a gateway of an electronic health record system;
- receiving, from the server, a communication comprising a data object associated with the gateway, the data object comprising configuration information useable by the user device for accessing the gateway;
- sending, by the user device, a first access request to the gateway based at least in part on the configuration information, the first access request to request downloading of medical record data maintained by the electronic health record system;
- and
- when the first access request fails,
- determining a future time to send a second access request to the gateway;
- sending, by the user device and at the future time, the second access request to the gateway;
- and
- receiving a data package from the gateway based at least in part on the second access request, the data package comprising medical record data.
A system, comprising:
- a memory configured to store computer-executable instructions;
- and
- a processor in communication with the memory and configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to at least:
- simulate, during a first period, user connections to a plurality of gateways associated with a plurality of electronic health record systems configured to maintain electronic health records for a plurality of users;
- and
- perform one of a plurality of actions based at least in part on a simulation condition of a first user connection to a first gateway of the plurality of gateways, the simulation condition identified while simulating the user connections to the plurality of gateways, the plurality of actions comprising:
- a first action comprising:
- simulating a second user connection to the first gateway during a second period;
- determining that the first gateway is inactive based at least in part on the second user connection failing during the second period;
- and
- notifying a set of user devices that the first gateway is inactive;
- a second action comprising notifying the set of user devices that the first gateway is inactive without simulating the second user connection;
- and
- a third action comprising enabling the set of user devices to connect to the first gateway.
