Abstract
A method and an electronic device of performing fingerprint recognition are provided. The method of performing the fingerprint recognition comprises: receiving a trigger instruction to call a fingerprint-recognition element of an electronic device; and in response to receiving the trigger instruction, activating one or more pixel units of a display screen of the electronic device to provide light at a fingerprint detection area of the display screen; detecting a fingerprint of a user of the electronic device at the fingerprint-detection area of the display screen; and determining whether or not the user is an authorized user of the electronic device from the fingerprint of the user as detected.
Claims14
A method of performing fingerprint recognition, comprising:
- receiving a trigger instruction to perform fingerprint recognition;
- in response to receiving the trigger instruction, activating one or more pixel units of a display screen of the electronic device to provide light at a fingerprint detection area of the display screen;
- detecting a fingerprint of a user of the electronic device at the fingerprint detection area of the display screen;
- and
- determining whether or not the user is an authorized user of the electronic device from the fingerprint of the user as detected.
An electronic device, comprising:
- a display screen having a fingerprint detection area;
- a fingerprint detection device comprised in the display screen;
- and
- a processor coupled to the display screen and the fingerprint detection device,
- wherein in response to the processor receiving a trigger instruction to perform fingerprint recognition, the processor is operable to
- activate one or more pixel units of the display screen to provide light at a fingerprint detection area of the display screen;
- activate the fingerprint detection device to detecting a fingerprint of a user of the electronic device at the fingerprint detection area of the display screen;
- and
- determine whether or not the user is an authorized user of the electronic device from the fingerprint as detected.
