Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods for treating/and or preventing colorectal cancer using a specific inhibitor of SMAD7 expression or function. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions containing an inhibitor of SMAD7 for treating and/or preventing colorectal cancer and manufacture of medicaments containing an inhibitor of SMAD7 to be used in treating and/or preventing colorectal cancer.

A method of treating colorectal cancer in a patient suffering from colorectal cancer, the method comprising administering to the patient an effective amount of a SMAD7 antisense oligonucleotide comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 10 to the patient.
A method of inhibiting the growth of colorectal cancer cells, comprising inhibiting SMAD7 in the colorectal cancer cells.
A method of treating colorectal cancer or inhibiting the growth of colorectal cancer cells in a patient suffering from colorectal cancer, the method comprising administering to the patient an effective amount of a SMAD7 antisense oligonucleotide comprising the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:
