Abstract
The present disclosure provides methods, compositions, kits and apparatuses for stabilizing membranes, membrane proteins, and/or membranes containing membrane proteins using hydrophobin.

A composition comprising a stabilized biomimetic membrane comprising a membrane protein and a Class II hydrophobin, wherein said stabilized biomimetic membrane is formed after adding said Class II hydrophobin to a biomimetic membrane forming solution, wherein the Class II hydrophobin is added at a concentration of 0.1 μM-50 mM.
