Analgesic compositions

A pharmaceutical composition comprising an aminoquinoline compound of Formula

• in free acid form, free base form, or as a pharmacologically acceptable addition salt wherein:
• R7 is alkyl (preferably a 3 to 6 carbon alky), or phenyl;
• R8 is alkyl (preferably a 3 to 6 carbon alkyl), or phenyl;
• E1 is —C(═O)R9;
• each R9 is H or C1-C4 alkyl;
• each X2 and X3 independently is an electron withdrawing group (preferably halogen or nitro);
• together with an analgesic agent different from the aminoquinoline compound and selected from the group consisting of a NSAID, an opioid, a NE/5-HT reuptake inhibitor, and mixtures thereof.
