Liquid flow instructional systems and methods of making and using same

A liquid flow instructional system for presenting a proportions problem and for allowing said proportions problem to be solved, said liquid flow instructional system comprising:

• an input container;
• a plurality of output containers selectively and fluidly coupled to said input container;
• an adjustable valve having a plurality of configurable regions, each of said plurality of configurable regions corresponding to one of said plurality of output containers;
• and
• an activable switch for initiating flow of liquid from said input container to said plurality of output containers in accordance with a user configuration of said plurality of configurable regions;
• wherein:
• said proportions problem is solvable by filling each of said plurality of output containers to capacity without spillage;
• and
• said correspondence between said plurality of configurable regions and said plurality of output containers is indicated by a visible indicator.

A method for presenting and solving a proportions problem, comprising:

• providing an input tank and a plurality of output tanks;
• coupling said input tank to said plurality of output tanks via an adjustable valve;
• said adjustable valve having a face comprising a plurality of regions each of which is configurable by a user and each of which corresponds to one of said plurality of output tanks;
• configuring said plurality of regions;
• activating a switch for initiating flow of liquid from said input tank to said plurality of output tanks in accordance with said configuration of said plurality of regions to fill each of said plurality of output tanks to capacity without spillage.
