Tile instructional systems and methods of making and using same

A tile instructional system for presenting a linear growth problem and for allowing said linear growth problem to be solved, said tile instructional system comprising:

• an input tray comprising at least a first tile and a second tile;
• said first tile having a first marking and said second tile having a second marking;
• each of said first tile and said second tile being configured to selectively expand in accordance with its respective marking;
• and
• a tile bed comprising a plurality of tile slots;
• each of said plurality of tile slots configured to receive a tile;
• wherein, said linear growth problem is solvable by situating in said tile bed at least one of said first tile and said second tile and by causing each tile situated in said tile bed to expand in accordance with its respective marking to fill said tile bed.

A method for presenting and solving a linear growth problem, comprising:

• providing an input tray comprising at least a first tile and a second tile;
• said first tile having a first marking and said second tile having a second marking;
• configuring each of said first tile and said second tile to selectively expand in accordance with its respective marking;
• providing a tile bed comprising a plurality of tile slots, each of said plurality of tile slots configured to receive a tile;
• situating in said tile bed at least one of said first tile and said second tile;
• and
• solving said linear growth problem by causing each tile situated in said tile bed to expand in accordance with its respective marking to fill said tile bed.
