Metrics analysis workflow

A system comprising:

• a memory containing computer-executable instructions;
• and
• a processor configured to execute the computer-executable instructions to cause the system to:
• cause display of an interface including a first visualization displayed according to a parameter value for the first visualization and representing values within a first field of a set of fields present within machine data;
• receive a selection a second field from the set of fields;
• add a second visualization to the interface, the second visualization displayed according to a parameter value for the second visualization and representing values within the second field;
• receive, through a global parameter control of the interface, user input specifying a desired parameter value for visualizations within the interface;
• and
• modify the parameter value for each visualization within the interface based on the desired parameter value, wherein modifying the parameter value for each visualization causes a dynamic update of each visualization within the interface.

Non-transitory computer-readable media comprising computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to:

• cause display of an interface including a first visualization displayed according to a parameter value for the first visualization and representing values within a first field of a set of fields present within machine data;
• receive a selection a second field from the set of fields;
• add a second visualization to the interface, the second visualization displayed according to a parameter value for the second visualization and representing values within the second field;
• receive, through a global parameter control of the interface, user input specifying a desired parameter value for visualizations within the interface;
• and
• modify the parameter value for each visualization within the interface based on the desired parameter value, wherein modifying the parameter value for each visualization causes a dynamic update of each visualization within the interface.
