Abstract
A method, computer system, and a computer program product for enhanced application write operations is provided. The present invention may include performing a write operation by an application node. The present invention may then include committing the write operation to a local buffer cache. The present invention may then include sending the application node an indication that the write operation was successful. The present invention may then include flushing the local buffer cache to a disk, and the present invention may lastly include sending a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) to a gateway node.
Claims20
A method for enhanced application write operations, the method comprising:
- performing a write operation by an application node;
- committing the write operation to a local buffer cache;
- sending the application node an indication that the write operation was successful;
- flushing the local buffer cache to a disk;
- sending a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) to a gateway node;
- generating a combined RPC based on combining one or more writes on the local buffer cache;
- and
- sending the generated combined RPC to the gateway node.

A computer system for enhanced application write operations, comprising:
- one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories, one or more computer-readable tangible storage medium, and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more tangible storage medium for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, wherein the computer system is capable of performing a method comprising:
- performing a write operation by an application node;
- committing the write operation to a local buffer cache;
- sending the application node an indication that the write operation was successful;
- flushing the local buffer cache to a disk;
- sending a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) to a gateway node;
- generating a combined RPC based on combining one or more writes on the local buffer cache;
- and
- sending the generated combined RPC to the gateway node.

A computer program product for enhanced application write operations, comprising:
- one or more computer-readable storage media and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more tangible storage media, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
- performing a write operation by an application node;
- committing the write operation to a local buffer cache;
- sending the application node an indication that the write operation was successful;
- flushing the local buffer cache to a disk;
- sending a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) to a gateway node;
- generating a combined RPC based on combining one or more writes on the local buffer cache;
- and
- sending the generated combined RPC to the gateway node.
