Information processing apparatus and information processing method

An information processing apparatus capable of being connected to at least one image processing apparatus, comprising:

• a judgment unit configured to make a judgment, based on a colorimetric value of a chart image formed by an image forming unit of the image processing apparatus, as to whether a predetermined criterion is satisfied by a color of the chart image printed by the image forming unit;
• and
• a determination unit configured to determine, based on a result of the judgment made by the judgment unit, a condition that causes the judgment unit to execute the judgment,
• wherein when the execution condition determined by the determination unit is satisfied, the image forming unit of the image processing apparatus forms a chart image to be subjected to the judgment by the judgment unit.

A method of controlling an information processing apparatus capable of being connected to an image processing apparatus comprising an image forming unit, the method comprising:

• acquiring a judgment result as to whether a colorimetric value obtained as a result of measuring a color of a chart image formed by the image forming unit satisfies a predetermined criterion in terms of a difference between the colorimetric value and a target value;
• notifying the image processing apparatus that the acquired judgment result does not satisfy the criterion;
• and
• before the notification is given to the image processing apparatus, instructing the image processing apparatus to execute an adjustment process.

A method of controlling an information processing apparatus capable of being connected to at least one image processing apparatus, comprising:

• making a judgment, based on a colorimetric value of a chart image formed by an image forming unit of the image processing apparatus, as to whether a predetermined criterion is satisfied by a color of the chart image printed by the image forming unit;
• and
• determining, based on a result of the judgment made by the judgment unit, a condition that causes the judgment to be executed,
• wherein when the determined execution condition is satisfied, the image forming unit of the image processing apparatus forms a chart image to be subjected to the judgment.
