Powerline Networked USB Power Adapter For IoT

A USB power adapter comprising:

• a printed circuit board;
• an electrical power input electrically connected to the printed circuit board and configured for electrical connection to a powerline having a voltage and current;
• at least one USB receptacle for receiving a USB plug that is in data signal communication with a USB electronic device;
• a power converter circuit electrically connected to the electrical power input, the power converter circuit converting the voltage and current into a DC voltage and current that functions as a supply voltage and current, the power converter circuit including circuitry to convert the DC voltage and current into USB VBUS;
• a USB VBUS line formed on the printed circuit board for delivering USB VBUS;
• a power delivery control logic attached to the printed circuit board including circuitry that perform the protocol communication with USB peripheral device and generate the proper voltage and current levels for the USB VBUS;
• a USB Host Controller attached to the printed circuit board and in electronic signal communication with the USB interface and configured to function as USB host that is compliant with the USB protocol;
• a powerline communication interface attached to the printed circuit board and electrically connected to the electrical power input, the powerline communication interface being in electronic signal communication with the microcontroller unit and including circuitry to transform and transfer data information in between with modulated data on powerline;
• a microcontroller unit (MCU) attached to the printed circuit board and in electronic signal communication with USB host controller and the powerline communication interface such that it is able to handle the data communication in between the powerline network and the USB device peripheral with their compliant protocol.
