Abstract
A method for communication among multiple on-die functional blocks using multiple communication networks is disclosed. The method may include sending a request from a first functional block via a first network. In response to receiving the request, a second functional block may respond to the first functional block via a second network. The second functional block may also send any requested data to the first functional block via a third network.

An apparatus, comprising:
- a first functional circuit block;
- and
- a second functional circuit block configured to send a request to the first functional circuit block using a ring network, wherein the first and second functional circuits blocks are coupled to the ring network;
- and
- wherein the first functional circuit block is further configured to, in response to receiving the request, send a response to the second functional circuit block using a point-to-point network, wherein the first functional circuit block and the second functional circuit block are further coupled to the point-to-point network.

A method, comprising:
- sending, by a first functional circuit block, a request to a second functional circuit block via a ring network that couples the first and second functional circuit blocks;
- in response to receiving the request, sending, by the second functional circuit block, a response to the first functional circuit block via a point-to-point network that further coupled the first and second functional circuit blocks;
- and
- in response to determining the request includes a data request, sending, by the second functional circuit block, requested data to the first functional circuit block via a store and forward network that further couples the first and second functional circuit blocks.

- a processor circuit;

- a plurality of cache memory circuits;
- a processor circuit configured to send a request to a particular cache memory circuit of the plurality of cache memory circuits via a ring network that couple the processor circuit to the plurality of cache memory circuits;

- wherein a particular cache memory circuit of the plurality of cache memory circuit is configured to send a response to the processor circuit using a point-to-point network that further couples the processor circuit to the plurality of cache memory circuits.
