Abstract
An object is identified within a specified distance from a vehicle. The object is assigned a position within in the vehicle and the object is detected in the position. Upon detecting the object in the position, a vehicle component is actuated.

A method, comprising:
- identifying an object within a specified distance of, and external to, a vehicle via a wireless protocol;
- assigning the identified object to a position in the vehicle;
- detecting that the object is in the position;
- and
- upon detecting the object in the position, actuating a vehicle component.
