Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display comprising:

• a first substrate and a second substrate opposed to each other with liquid crystal therebetween;
• a first pixel including a first TFT element and a first pixel electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and disposed over the first substrate;
• a second pixel including a second TFT element and a second pixel electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and disposed over the first substrate, the second pixel being adjacent to the first pixel;
• a gate signal line disposed over the first substrate, the gate signal line being connected to the first TFT element and the second TFT element;
• a drain signal line disposed over the first substrate and between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode, the drain signal line being connected to the second TFT element;
• and
• a counter electrode formed of a transparent conducting layer and disposed over the first substrate,
• wherein the counter electrode is overlapped with the first pixel electrode, the second pixel electrode and the drain signal line.
