Abstract
A platform for exploiting the energy contained in waves operating in a marine environment and floating on the sea is disclosed. This comprises a submerged portion existing below a sea surface, an emerged portion existing above the sea surface, and a partially submerged wave power generation mechanism portion including the sea surface and coupling the submerged portion and the emerged portion.
Claims18
A platform for marine use floating in a sea, comprising:
- a submerged portion existing below a sea surface, the submerged portion including a ballast for the platform maintaining an upright position in a water and a plurality of chambers sequentially stacked on the ballast;
- an emerged portion existing above the sea surface;
- and
- a wave power generation mechanism portion including the sea surface and coupling the submerged portion and the emerged portion, the wave power generation mechanism portion further including a plurality of floats floating on the sea surface and traveling along float support columns between the submerged and emerged portions, the emerged portion including a generation chamber housing a converter for converting upward and downward movements of the plurality of floats propelled by waves into a continuous unidirectional circular movement and a generator for generating power by the continuous unidirectional circular movement.
