A recombinant microorganism with an improved putrescine-producing ability, comprising a modified ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) protein having at least 95% identity to SEQ ID NO:
- 1, wherein an isoleucine at the position corresponding to position 163 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 is replaced with an amino acid residue other than isoleucine, and/or a glutamic acid at the position corresponding to position 165 of SEQ ID NO:
- 1 is replaced with an amino acid residue other than glutamic acid.
