Abstract
A method of treating fabrics including the steps of: providing a fabric comprising an ester containing compound pre-deposited thereon; and (ii) contacting the fabric with an aqueous medium comprising an acyl transferase enzyme and a peroxide source, wherein the acyl transferase enzyme causes generation of peracid in situ in the aqueous medium.
Claims17
A method of treating fabrics comprising the steps of:
- (i) providing a fabric comprising an ester containing compound pre-deposited thereon;
- and
- (ii) contacting the fabric with an aqueous medium comprising an acyl transferase enzyme and a peroxide source, wherein the acyl transferase enzyme causes generation of peracid in situ in the aqueous medium.
A fabric treatment kit comprising:
- at least one component selected from:
- a fabric treatment composition comprising an ester containing compound and a detergent composition comprising an acyl transferase enzyme and a peroxide source;
- and
- instructions for performing a method comprising the steps of:
- (i) providing a fabric comprising an ester containing compound pre-deposited thereon;
- and
- (ii) contacting the fabric with an aqueous medium comprising an acyl transferase enzyme and a peroxide source, wherein the acyl transferase enzyme causes generation of peracid in situ in the aqueous medium.
