Selective androgen receptor modulator and methods of use thereof

A selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) compound represented by a structure of formula (IV′):

• X is O;
• T is OH, OR, NHCOCH3, NHCOR, or OC(O)R;
• Z is NO2, CN, COOH, COR, NHCOR, or CONHR;
• Y is hydrogen, alkyl, CF3, formyl, alkoxy, halogen, hydroxyalkyl, or alkyl aldehyde;
• R is alkyl, haloalkyl, dihaloalkyl, trihaloalkyl, CH2F, CHF2, CF3, CF2CF3, aryl, phenyl, halogen, haloalkenyl, alkenyl, or OH;
• R1 is CH3, CH2F, CHF2, CF3, CH2CH3, or CF2CF3;
• and
• A is a group selected from:

• R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 are independently is H, halogen, NO2, CN, NHCOR9, N(COR9)2, COR10, OR11, OSO2R12, SO2R13, NHSO2R12, SR14, an imide ring, alkyl or substituted alkyl with at least one substituent of halogen, CN, NH2, OH, alkoxy;
• or R2 and R3, R3 and R4, R4 and R5, or R5 and R6 form, together with any of the ring atom(s) to which they are attached, a condensed 5 to 7 membered aliphatic or aromatic carbocyclic ring or a condensed 5 to 7 membered heterocyclic ring containing 1 to 3 heteroatom(s) selected from N, O, S;
• or represented by structures A, B or C:
• R7 and R8 are independently H, halogen, alkyl or alkenyl;
• R9 and R10 are independently alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl, aminoalkyl, mono- or di-alkylaminoalkyl, aryl, N(R15)2 or —OR16;
• R11 and R14 independently H, alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl, aminoalkyl, mono- or di-alkylaminoalkyl, aryl, —COR17;
• R12 and R13 are independently alkyl or alkenyl, haloalkyl or aryl;
• R15 and R16 are independently H, alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl, aminoalkyl or aryl;
• and
• R17 is alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl or aryl,
• or its prodrug, analog, isomer, metabolite, derivative, pharmaceutically acceptable salt, pharmaceutical product, polymorph, crystal, impurity, N-oxide, hydrate or any combination thereof.
