Abstract
The current disclosure relates to methods for treating loss of muscle mass, by administering compositions comprising a combination of: 20-hydroxy-ecdysone (20HE) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and at least one ecdysteroid selected from the group consisting of polypodine, makisterone A, integristerone, taxisterone, lesterone, rapisterone, inokonesterone, carthamosterone, rubrosterone, leuzeasterone, ayugasterone, turkestrone, salts thereof, and derivatives thereof. The composition optionally further comprises an effective amount of hesperidin.
Claims20
A method of treating loss of muscle mass or stimulating muscle protein synthesis in a patient in need thereof, comprising administering to said patient an effective amount of a composition comprising a combination of:
- 20-hydroxy-ecdysone (20HE) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- and
- at least one ecdysteroid selected from the group consisting of polypodine, makisterone A, integristerone, taxisterone, lesterone, rapisterone, inokonesterone, carthamosterone, rubrosterone, leuzeasterone, ayugasterone, turkestrone, salts thereof, and derivatives thereof.
A composition for treating loss of muscle mass or stimulating muscle protein synthesis, comprising an effective amount of:
- a) a composition comprising a combination of:
- 20-hydroxy-ecdysone (20HE) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- and
- at least one ecdysteroid selected from the group consisting of polypodine, makisterone A, integristerone, taxisterone, lesterone, rapisterone, inokonesterone, carthamosterone, rubrosterone, leuzeasterone, ayugasterone, turkestrone, salts thereof, and derivatives thereof;
- and optionally
- b) hesperidin.
