Abstract
An implant for repairing a joint between a first bone and a second bone includes a first section constructed of a substantially rigid material and a graft constructed of soft tissue having a first end and a second end. The first section has a first end surface configured for positioning against the first bone. The graft is configured for stabilizing the first section relative to the first bone. A first fastener is configured for mounting to the graft and the first section to anchor the graft to the first section. A second fastener is configured for mounting to the graft and the first bone to anchor the graft to the first bone.

A surgical method for ligament augmentation comprising:
- securing a first fastener within a first bone of a joint adjacent a first end of a ligament of the joint to secure a suture to the first bone adjacent the first end of the ligament;
- and
- securing a second fastener within a second bone of the joint adjacent a second end of the ligament of the joint opposite the first end of the ligament to secure the suture to the second bone adjacent the second end of the ligament,
- wherein the secured suture extends along a length of the ligament between the secured first and second fasteners,
- wherein the secured suture reinforces the ligament.
A surgical method for ligament augmentation comprising:
- securing a suture within a first bone of a joint adjacent a first end of a ligament of the joint;
- and
- securing the suture within a second bone of a joint adjacent a second end of the ligament of the joint such that the suture extends along a length of the ligament from adjacent the first end of the ligament to adjacent the second end of the ligament,
- wherein the anchored suture reinforces the ligament.
A surgical device, comprising:
- a first fastener configured to be secured within a first bone of a joint adjacent a first end of a ligament of the joint;
- a second fastener configured to be secured within a second bone of the joint adjacent a second end of the ligament of the joint;
- and
- a braided polymeric suture looped through the first fastener,
- wherein the first fastener is configured to secure the braided polymeric suture to the first bone adjacent the second end of the ligament,
- wherein the second fastener is configured to secure the braided polymeric suture to the second bone adjacent the second end of the ligament,
- wherein the braided polymeric suture is configured to extend along a length of the ligament between the first and second fasteners,
- wherein the braided polymeric suture is configured to be tensioned between the first and second fasteners to reinforce the ligament.
