Abstract
The invention provides seed and plants of tomato parent line PSQ-9Z09039. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of tomato line PSQ-9Z09039, and to methods for producing a tomato plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another tomato plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.
Claims22
A tomato plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of tomato line PSQ-9Z09039, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124193.
A method of introducing a trait into a tomato line, the method comprising:
- (a) utilizing as a recurrent parent a plant of tomato line PSQ-9Z09039, by crossing a plant of tomato line PSQ-9Z09039with a donor tomato plant that comprises a trait to produce F1 progeny, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124193;
- (b) selecting an F1 progeny that comprises the trait;
- (c) backcrossing the selected F1 progeny with a plant of the same tomato line used as the recurrent parent in step (a), to produce backcross progeny;
- (d) selecting a backcross progeny comprising the trait and the morphological and physiological characteristics of the recurrent parent tomato line used in step (a);
- and
- (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) three or more times to produce a selected fourth or higher backcross progeny.
A tomato plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of tomato line PSQ-9Z09039, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124193, further comprising a transgene.
A tomato plant comprising at least a first set of the chromosomes of tomato line PSQ-9Z09039, a sample of seed of said line having been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-124193, further comprising a single locus conversion.
