Abstract
The present invention relates to the production of eriodictyol via bioconversion.
Claims48
An isolated recombinant host cell transformed with a nucleic acid construct comprising a polynucleotide sequence encoding a flavin reductase operably linked to one or more control sequences, wherein the flavin reductase is capable of directing the bioconversion of naringenin to a hydroxylated flavonoid.
A method of using a natural compound in a cosmetic or hygiene product, the method comprising the steps of:
- producing a eriodictyol from a microbial host cell and manufacturing a cosmetic or a hygiene product by combining said eriodictyol with cosmetically or hygienically active substances to provide a desirable skin, hair or oral care effect.
