Abstract
The present disclosure provides a lubricating composition with improved high-pressure pumpability and/or reduced viscosity at high pressures, as well as method of making and using the same. The lubricating composition includes a white oil and a polymeric thickener present in an amount equal to or less than about 40 wt % of the lubricating composition. The white oil has a kinematic viscosity of at least one of: about 80 mm2/sec to about 120 mm2/sec at 40° C. and/or about 9.5 mm2/sec to about 14 mm2/sec at 100° C.
Claims20
A lubricating composition comprising:
- a white oil with a kinematic viscosity of at least one of:
- about 80 mm2/sec to about 120 mm2/sec at 40° C.;
- about 9.5 mm2/sec to about 14 mm2/sec at 100° C.;
- or
- a combination thereof;
- and
- a polymeric thickener present in an amount equal to or less than about 40 wt % of the lubricating composition.
A method of making a lubricating composition with at least one of improved high-pressure pumpability, reduced viscosity at high pressures, or a combination thereof and, the method comprising mixing:
- a white oil with a kinematic viscosity of at least one of:
- about 80 mm2/sec to about 120 mm2/sec at 40° C.;
- about 9.5 mm2/sec to about 14 mm2/sec at 100° C.;
- or
- a combination thereof;
- and
- a polymeric thickener present in an amount equal to or less than about 40 wt % of the lubricating composition.
