Abstract
Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for generating electronic transactional documents using a form generating system. The electronic transactional document may be created using a design tool that allows a user to place data entry fields over an image or snap shot of a transactional document. Rules, default values, and attributes associated with the date entry fields may be established as the electronic transactional document is being created.
Claims27
A computer-implemented method for managing at least one reusable electronic document that can be used in at least one electronic workflow, the method comprising:
- receiving a selection of a first electronic document associated with a transaction, wherein the first electronic document comprises a first set of data entry fields, a placement position of each data entry field in the first set of data entry fields, and at least one rule associated with at least one data entry field in the first set of data entry fields;
- receiving a value for a first data entry field in the first set of data entry fields;
- storing the value received for the first data entry field in a data store;
- receiving a selection of a second electronic document associated with the transaction, wherein the second electronic document comprises a second set of data entry fields, a placement position of each data entry field in the second set of data entry fields, and at least one rule associated with at least one data entry field in the second set of data entry fields;
- and
- populating from the value for the at least one first data entry field in the first set of data entry fields to a value for a second data entry field in the second set of data entry fields.
A computer-implemented method for managing at least one reusable electronic document that can be used in at least one electronic workflow, the method comprising:
- receiving a selection of a first electronic document associated with a transaction, wherein the first electronic document comprises a first set of data entry fields, a placement position of each data entry field in the first set of data entry fields, and at least one rule associated with at least one data entry field in the first set of data entry fields;
- receiving a value for a first data entry field in the first set of data entry fields;
- storing the value received for the first data entry field as a first data entry in a data store;
- receiving a selection of a second electronic document associated with the transaction, wherein the second electronic document comprises a second set of data entry fields, a placement position of each data entry field in the second set of data entry fields, and at least one rule associated with at least one data entry field in the second set of data entry fields;
- receiving a value for a second data entry field in the second set of data entry fields;
- validating the value received for the second data entry field in the second set of data entry fields based on the value received for first data entry field in the first set of data entry fields;
- and
- only when validation is successful, storing the value received for the second data entry field in the second set of data entry fields as a second data entry in the data store.
A computer-implemented method for reusing at least one reusable electronic document that can be used in at least one electronic workflow, the method comprising:
- receiving a selection of a first electronic document associated with a transaction, wherein the first electronic document comprises an electronic image of a first form, a first set of data entry fields, a placement position of each data entry field in the first set of data entry fields on the first electronic document, and at least one rule associated with at least one data entry field in the first set of data entry fields, and
- wherein a first data record corresponding to the first electronic document is stored in a data store;
- receiving at least one modification indication of modifying the first electronic document, wherein the at least one modification indication comprises at least one of the following:
- replacing the first form with a second different form,
- adding at least one data entry field to the first electronic document,
- deleting at least one data entry field from the first set of data entry fields already existing on the first electronic document,
- modifying the placement position of at least one data entry field in the first set of data entry fields, and
- modifying the at least one rule associated with the at least one data entry field in the set of data entry fields;
- creating a second electronic document based on the first electronic document and the at least one modification indication received for modifying the first electronic document;
- and
- storing in the data store a second document record for the created second electronic document.
