Abstract
In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to methods of treating or preventing a PGAM1 mediated condition such as cancer or tumor growth comprising administering an effective amount of PGAM1 inhibitor, for example, an anthracene-9,10-dione derivative to a subject in need thereof. In certain embodiments, the disclosure relates to methods of treating or preventing cancer, such as lung cancer, head and neck cancer, and leukemia, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound disclosed herein or pharmaceutically acceptable salt to a subject in need thereof.
Claims8
A method of treating or preventing cancer comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of Formula I to a subject diagnosed with, exhibiting symptoms of, or at risk of cancer, the compound of Formula I is
- prodrug, ester, or salt thereof wherein:
- R1 is amino optionally substituted with one or more, the same or different, R9;
- R7 is hydroxy;
- R8 is hydroxy;
- R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6, are each individually and independently hydrogen, alkyl, halogen, nitro, cyano, hydroxy, amino, mercapto, formyl, carboxy, carbamoyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylamino, (alkyl)2amino, alkylsulfinyl, alkyl sulfonyl, aryl sulfonyl, carbocyclyl, aryl, or heterocyclyl, wherein R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6, are optionally substituted with one or more, the same or different, R9;
- R9 is alkyl, halogen, nitro, cyano, hydroxy, amino, mercapto, formyl, carboxy, carbamoyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylamino, (alkyl)2amino, alkylsulfinyl, alkyl sulfonyl, aryl sulfonyl, carbocyclyl, aryl, or heterocyclyl, wherein R9 is optionally substituted with one or more, the same or different, R10;
- R10 is alkyl, halogen, nitro, cyano, hydroxy, amino, mercapto, formyl, carboxy, carbamoyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, alkylamino, (alkyl)2amino, alkylsulfinyl, alkyl sulfonyl, aryl sulfonyl, carbocyclyl, aryl, or heterocyclyl, wherein R9 is optionally substituted with one or more, the same or different, R11;
- R11 is halogen, nitro, cyano, hydroxy, trifluoromethoxy, trifluoromethyl, amino, formyl, carboxy, carbamoyl, mercapto, sulfamoyl, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, acetyl, acetoxy, methylamino, ethylamino, dimethylamino, diethylamino, N-methyl-N-ethylamino, acetylamino, N-methylcarbamoyl, N-ethylcarbamoyl, N,N-dimethylcarbamoyl, N,N-diethylcarbamoyl, N-methyl-N-ethylcarbamoyl, methylthio, ethylthio, methyl sulfinyl, ethyl sulfinyl, mesyl, ethyl sulfonyl, methoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl, N-methylsulfamoyl, N-ethylsulfamoyl, N,N-dimethylsulfamoyl, N,N-diethylsulfamoyl, N-methyl-N-ethylsulfamoyl, carbocyclyl, aryl, or heterocyclyl.
