Abstract
The present disclosure encompasses canine parvovirus (CPV) vaccines or compositions. The vaccine or composition may be a vaccine or composition containing CPV virus-like particle (VLP), and a preparation method and a use thereof. The CPV VLPs are formed by the CPV VP2 protein. Further, the disclosure broadly encompasses vaccines comprising combinations of MLV and VLP, which are capable of overcoming MDA against a variety of pathogens, which infect a variety of different species.
Claims21
A composition comprising a modified-live virus (MLV) and virus-like particles (VLPs) in an amount effective to overcome a neutralizing effect of maternally-derived antibodies (MDAs) in an animal against the MLV, wherein the MLV and the VLPs are antigens from a same pathogen.
A plasmid configured to produce, when expressed, a CPV VLP comprising a CPV antigenic polypeptide having 90% or greater sequence identity to at least one of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10.
A method for eliciting a protective immune response in an animal against a pathogen comprising administering to the animal a MLV and VLPs in an amount effective to overcome a neutralizing effect of MDAs against the MLV, wherein the MLV and the VLPs are antigens from the pathogen.
