Abstract
The invention relates to recombinant microorganisms and methods for producing terpene compounds, terpenoid compounds, and precursors thereof derived from (2Z,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate.
Claims37
A recombinant host comprising a gene encoding a heterologous (2Z,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate synthase ((2Z,6E)-FPPS) polypeptide;
- wherein the host is capable of producing a (2Z,6E)-farnesyl diphosphate ((2Z,6E)-FPP) compound and/or a compound derived from (2Z,6E)-FPP.
A recombinant host comprising:
- (a) a gene encoding a (2Z,6E)-FPPS polypeptide having 70% or greater identity to an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:4;
- and
- (b) a gene encoding a 4,5-di-epi-aristolochene synthase (TEAS) polypeptide having 70% or greater identity to an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:6.
- wherein at least one of said genes is a heterologous gene.
