Abstract
A wheel hub for a heavy-duty vehicle includes a first and second tubular hub segment. The first tubular hub segment has a first annular end surface. The second tubular hub segment has a second annular end surface and a radially extending flange. A continuous, circumferential joint is formed at the interface of the first annular end surface and second annular end surface.
Claims22
A wheel hub for a heavy-duty vehicle comprising:
- a first tubular hub segment having an annular first end surface;
- a second tubular hub segment having an annular second end surface and a radially-outward extending flange;
- and
- a continuous circumferential joint formed at an interface of the annular first end surface and annular second end surface.
A wheel hub for a heavy-duty vehicle comprising:
- a first tubular hub segment having a body with an annular first end surface;
- and
- a second tubular hub segment having a body with an annular second end surface and a flange extending radially outward from the body, at least one of the first tubular hub segment and second tubular hub segment being forged;
- and
- a continuous circumferential joint formed at an interface of the annular first end surface and the annular second end surface.
A wheel hub for a heavy-duty vehicle comprising:
- a first tubular hub segment having a first annular end surface;
- a second tubular hub segment having a second annular end surface and a third annular end surface;
- a third tubular hub segment having a fourth annular end surface and a flange;
- a first continuous circumferential joint formed at an interface of the first annular end surface and the second annular end surface;
- and
- a second continuous circumferential joint formed at an interface of the third annular end surface and the fourth annular end surface.
A wheel hub for a heavy-duty vehicle comprising:
- a tubular portion;
- a flange portion extending radially outward from the tubular portion;
- a plurality of pilot openings formed in the flange portion;
- and
- a plurality of pilot studs, each of the plurality of pilot studs being receivable in a respective one of the plurality of pilot openings in the flange portion.
